Victorious Yahoo CEO now will have to walk the talk
By MICHAEL LIEDTKE
The Associated Press
Monday, May 5, 2008

Summary: In this article, Liedtke talk about Jerry Yang- Yahoo CEO . After many times met with Steve Ballmer Microsoft Chief Executive, they're also had a big deal. When Microsoft offer a price of $33 per share for Yahoo's stock - A attractive price. Whereas the Analysts think this is a suitable price and Yahoo no longer have any reason to refuse it, but Jerry Yang still doesn't accept. He wanted to have extra time. He think this addtional time will help his company to find a partner and force Microsoft to increase the price again. His undecided impetus made Mr. Steve Ballmer headache many times. Microsoft was sometimes very confident that buying Yahoo is a easy thing, but sometimes they felt tried.
My Opinion : I think Jerry Yang is a wise and smart CEO. He must think over anything before make any decision, but he'd better not accept that big deal. I don't know what happen if Yahoo and Microsoft become 1. Now everything I'm using in Yahoo is free. If Microsoft can buy Yahoo, maybe I and others customers will pay for using Yahoo. Otherwise, I want Yahoo be bigger and have a good situation to upgrade anything, such as : 360 blog, Yahoo Photo, Flickr...Anyway, whether Jerry Yang accept or not--> he did a great job. This face-to-face between Jerry Yang and Steve Ballmer is to be continued. Let's see what happens next?

Book Club Report #4

Title of Book: The Chronicles of Narnia, it has 7 books in this series but I'm reading book 1: The Magician's Nephew. It has 202 pages and I'm now on page 63, I've read 29 pages this week. I understand about 80% what I read.
1. The character I like in the book is Digory because he is the main role in this book.He has all the personality of a young boy although he's a fictional character. I like his conversation very much. He's not only intelligent but also mischievous. At first he is a playful boy, but when Polly got in danger, he became more mature. He is a good boy.
I'm looking forward to seeing the film of this novel on May 16th. I've already seen it's trailer, really interesting. If you have time, let see this film " The Chronicles of Narnia" in the theatres on May 16th.

With Yahoo deal's collapse, stymied Microsoft must find new online strategy

By Benjamin J. Romano
Seattle Times technology reporter
Monday, May 5, 2008
-In this article the author - Romano talked about the Microsoft's difficult trip to buy yahoo. The reason is Microsoft want to be bigger to compete with Google. They took a long time to suggest Yahoo to merger their two companies. However, Yahoo has resisted to negotiate with Microsoft many times. Whereas Microsoft has already used all their strong method, they even offer a very high price of $44.6 billion. They have 3 plan to force Yahoo : plan A, B, C. They are now using plan B. If this plan isn't effective they will come back to plan B or go ahead to plan C. The Analysts think Microsoft can buy Yahoo. Just because Yahoo think the price is still very cheap and they want more extra time to find some ways to raise the price. However, two days ago Chief Executive Steve Ballmer said that Microsoft will give up buying Yahoo after 2 months tired of negotiating with Yahoo.

-My Opinion
: I think this uncompleted commercial affair is also a pity thing for two of this huge company. Yahoo and Microsoft are also my favorite company, especially in Vietnam Yahoo is very popular. Vietnamese people all use Yahoo such as : messenger, email, blog...They just use Google to research. I'm not looking forward Yahoo and Microsoft will merge into 1 one day, I like the way they are now. Yahoo just pay more intention in their customer and upgrade something---> Perfect thing.

Book Club Report #3

Title of Book: The Chronicles of Narnia, it has 7 books in this series but I'm reading book 1: The Magician's Nephew. It has 202 pages and I'm now on page 34, I've read 16 pages this week. I understand about 85% what I read after many times read it again and again.
The most significant thing that impressed me in the book this week is: the moment when Digory touched the yellow ring, he would vanish out of the world and went to another place that he never know. He had to do that because he wanted to come the place that his uncle Andrew hid Polly (his friend). The only way to help Polly came back home is that she must touch the green ring. And the only one brought the ring for her was Digory.
In think that moment was the most significant because it would begin a very long dangerous trip to rescue Polly. Digory is a little schoolboy and he never believe in magic till that day. He had no alternative and the adventure began from the moment he touched the yellow ring.
Vocabulary Words:

Book Club Report #2

The book I'm reading is till The Chronicles of Narnia. It has totally 202 pages and I'm now..let's see..in page 22. ^^ The book is a little bit difficult so I had to read it again and again. I understand about 65% of what I read. Gail recommended me to watch the film first before reading book. I've just borrowed the film from a friend of my uncle but I don't have time to watch it. I'm going to watch the film this weekend..
I think the setting of the book is a little bit confusing; therefore, It makes me confused. At the beginning of the book the writer said: "THIS IS A STORY ABOUT SOMETHING that happened long ago...". He also mentioned Mr. Sherlock Holmes. I just know that this story begins in London around 1900. And Digory is the most interesting character. He is a young boy and I think there will be a lot of fantasy things happen with him and Polly. I'm eager to know what will happen next, maybe they will have many obstacles and dangers in their way to the magical land (lol, good imagination huh?)
Some Vocabulary words and definitions:
-Chronicles(n): A detailed narrative historical record or report.
- Smuggler(v): to import or export (goods) secretly, in violation of the law, esp. without payment of legal duty.
- Burglar (n):a thief who enters a building with intent to steal

Book Club Report #1

The book I'm reading is The Chronicles of Narnia. There are 7 books in all, but I just read book 1 of this series. The title of the book is The Magician's Nephew, the author is C.S.Lewis. It has 202 pages and I'm now on page 18 (Chapter 1). I think I just understand about 65%. The vocabulary is not very difficult but it's hard for me to comprehend the whole story. My uncle's girl friend recommend this book for me.(-0)
This is a story about 2 young people : Digory and Polly, "they meet and become friends one cold, wet summer in London.Their lives burst into adventure when Digory's uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, send them hurtling to... somewhere else. They find their way to Narnia, newborn from the Lion's song, and encounter the evil sorceress Jadis before they finally return home..."
I think this book's interesting for those who like magical book and I will like to read this book, too.I usually read book before going to bed every night.
( Sometimes it's make me feel sleepy and I'll go to bed easily...hehe=))
